A brief history of my business…

Based in San Diego, my focus is on yoga for the 55+ crowd (mostly women), who would like to try yoga for the first time or are using it as a tool to recover from an acute injury or something more persistent (like low back pain, improving flexibility/range of motion, getting strength back).

How I got here:

In April of 2017, I lost my job. The small company I had been working for four years was purchased by a big company and, well, my department turned into a little puff of smoke. Luckily, I was teaching a handful of yoga classes before and after work already and with extra time on my hands, I took as many classes as I could in between. Little by little, a new business was born! My schedule started to fill up as I taught more classes. In doing so, I helped CEOs breathe, I taught seniors proper plank form, I sweated with software engineers, I celebrated engagements and bachelorette parties and I was included in family reunions— all because of Y-O-G-A. Yoga means union and there is no way to teach classes without feeling united with my students. I need them as much as they need me. I’m well into my sixth year of teaching and I still can’t believe this is how I get to make a life.

I’ve been working with Allison over a year now and I began to see results almost immediately. She is thorough and articulates well which helps me immensely in understanding the practice and what my body should feel during the various yoga poses. We transitioned to virtual meetings during the pandemic and I felt myself getting stronger at each meeting. I love working with Allison!
