What is your typical process for working with a new client?

I typically like to chat with you on the phone before our first session to ensure it is a good fit for all parties. I like to know if you have any specific goals you'd like to meet with our sessions and if you have any past injuries that we need to address.

I also like my clients to know that I am a non-diet/non-weight loss trainer, which means I don't focus on the numbers on the scale. Instead, I focus on how exercise feels in your body, what makes you feel stronger, more balanced and more flexible.

What types of clients have you worked with?

I have worked with a broad range of ages, abilities and sizes. From athletes in their teens to fitness enthusiasts with knee and shoulder replacements in their 90s. I believe everyone can find joy in moving their bodies; it's just a matter of finding what type of movement appeals to you.

How did you get started doing this type of work?

I have always been a fitness enthusiast and a long distance runner. I found the exercise made me feel better regardless of the number on the scale and I wanted to share that with others.  I have been an ACE certified personal trainer since 2012 and I completed my Vinyasa Yoga training at Prana Yoga Center in 2015. In 2018, I completed my Restorative Yoga Teacher Training and my Yin Yoga Teacher Training. I’m currently working my way through Pilates Teacher Training!

Will you travel to my home?

Yes!  I primarily work with clients in their homes so no need to travel.  However, if you feel more comfortable in a public space, we can meet at a local park or the beach and I will bring all the supplies we need to work together.  Whether it's weights or a yoga mat, I've got you covered!

Do you train clients with specific goals?

I sure do!  I can help you get toned, build muscle and strength, gain flexibility, boost endurance and improve your balance.

Do you train clients with medical conditions?

Yup!  I have trained clients with asthma, back problems, joint pain, mental health issues, arthritis, knee replacements, shoulder replacements and frozen shoulders, pelvic floor injuries, MCL tears, spinal fractures, bulging discs, neuropathy and many more. I have a certificate in Adaptive Yoga, where I learned how to safely teach yoga to students with the following conditions:

  • Osteoarthritis

  • Rheumatoid arthritis

  • Lower extremity amputations

  • Stroke causing hemiplegia and other deficits

  • Spinal cord injury resulting in paraplegia

  • Parkinson's disease

  • Multiple sclerosis

  • Cerebral palsy

What is your cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel an appointment, please let me know 24 hours in advance.  If you need to cancel with less than 24 hours notice, you will be charged for the appointment.

Allison did a family yoga class for my wife and two daughters (13 & 16) this past weekend. She did a great job getting us started and we all had a great time. She was on time and brought additional yoga mats since we only had one at home. Not easy to impress a pair of teenagers, but they really enjoyed it and are looking forward to more family yoga with Allison!
